Doris Lenz was a dedicated NJNATS voice teacher, who took special pride and pleasure in teaching high school singers. In her memory, this scholarship was established to support serious high school students of singing who participate in summer vocal music programs. Scholarship of $350 is available for SUMMER 2023.

Eligibility

Applicants can be any student who has completed grade 9, 10, 11, or 12 in
Spring 2023, and studies voice privately with a teacher who is a member of New Jersey NATS. Strong consideration will be given to singers who have participated in the Doris Lenz Festival of Singing and have not previously received a Doris Lenz Award.

Application Requirements Include:

– Your name and address
– Resume or list of your singing activities to date
– The specific summer program(s) {names and addresses} you will be attending during Summer 2023 (*Reimbursement is an option in case the award winner has already paid for the program)
– An essay (two or three paragraphs) telling us your goals as a singer, and the reason you are requesting an NJNATS scholarship
– Letter of recommendation from your NJNATS teacher

Deadline for application is June 1st, 2023. Scholarship winner will be notified by email by June 10th, 2023.
